Detailed Information About The Tyrolean Harp Kontakt Library

We produced this sample library Instrument of the exceptional Tyrolean Harp. The skilled harpist Christine Gundolf played on a harp made by Peter Petutschnig, which is a modern classic under the Tyrolean Folk Harps. This harp vst was recorded in the weyrerTon Studio One's dead room - a 13 square meter recording room with professional acoustic treatment. To capture every detail of this instrument, six microphones in three different positions were used for the recording:

  • Close Setup A-B: One U47 FET one Sennheiser MKH 40

  • Close Setup M/S: Schoeps M/S System

  • Room Setup: DPA ST4011 C, 2 meters distance to the harp

  • 3 Round-Robin Variations Per Dynamic Layer

  • Finger Plucks recreate the soft and beautiful sound of the Tyrolean Harp. Plucks Are Recorded in 4 Dynamic Ranges from A0 – D#6 (Including Semitones)

  • Pluck intonations are available in plug sustained (rings out until the end of the sample & plug release (stops as soon as the midi note is released)

​

  • Nail plucks have a bit of a harsher character and add texture to your sound

​

  • Harmonics sound crisp and vibrant and create the feeling of an actual harp player sitting in front of you

Whenever i open up the Tyrolean Harp Kontakt library, i don't get overloaded by tons of knobs, because of its great straightforward user interface. With the 3 easy to use knobs, i can design the harp to fit into my production in just a few seconds. My personal favorite articulation is "nails" which sounds very natural and still pops through any mix!
